We Love Our Members Contest at Treasured Scrapbooking!!

Here's a little announcement from the owner, Erin, at Treasured Scrapbooking...you know you wanna play along!!!

Treasured Scrapbooking - We Love Our Members Contest
Annual Contest
March 1st-28th

Please join us for a four week long contest involving challenges, games and prizes!

Each Monday morning (or late Sunday night) I will issue a challenge based on a design principle, and you will have until Sunday at midnight PST to complete your layout. If you don’t complete a layout, you are out of the contest. Entries will be “judged” by the Design Team and given a score according to the following parameters:

1. Following the challenges directions
2. Photographs
3. Overall composition
4. Success of using design principle

It sounds complicated, but I PROMISE it will be fun! Each design principle will be something easy, most likely it will be things you already do! Digital scrappers are welcome to join in on the fun, but there may be occasion where paper scrapping will be necessary, so be careful to read the challenge outlines each week.

At the end of the four weeks, the participant with the highest score will be our grand prize winner. There will also be a random name draw winner and a weekly winner. There will be games and prizes to go along with the fun all month long!

Hope to see you! All Newbies welcomed!

In honor of Valentines Day...

I've been excited to share with you my creations from the February "Heart" kit from Coordinates Collections...this kit is to DIE FOR!!!

Take a look at this:

LOVE IT!!! You can still grab one up for yourself right HERE

So here is what I came up with:

It's just so fun to work with these fun colors...I don't have an excuse to very often so it's a nice change!

This week I also taught a Valentine's Day card class at church and we had a fun time! Here are the cards I taught:

These are super easy and come together quickly...all you need is some fun paper, a few border punches (my all-time favorite scrapbooking tool these days), some ribbon or twine and a few heart punches and you're good to go!

Last but not least, I have to know, what are you getting your significant other for V-day?? I have three days to figure something out!!! =)

My challenge to you this month is in honor of Valentines day...create a handmade Valentines day gift! This could be anything, but there is one rule...you must use patterned paper and/or cardstock as the base. I created this bag topper to put on the top of a bag full of Hersheys hugs...the chocolates are all wrapped in pink, red and silver foil of course!

It's so fun to put a handmade twist on a store-bought gift! I created this topper using scraps of leftover patternend paper and cardstock, a $1.00 stamp from Michaels and some Bakers twine...and it took hardly any time at all. Hope you get excited to make one yourself!

If you started from the beginning of our Blog Hop, you came here from Lisa's blog. After my blog, the next hop will be on over to Morag's blog...right HERE Make sure you hop all the way around if you started mid-hop! =)

The blog hop goes from Feb 1st-Feb 5th!!! Get your entries in TODAY, and get started on the challenges NOW! =)

How cute are these?!?!

These are a few things I've come across this week that I'm loving...

1. Chocolate dipped oreo pops--I'm thinking these might be a fun Valentines day treat!

You can find the tutorial HERE

2. Since I have three kids I was totally excited about seeing these...I think I may actually break down and buy them!

I dream of one day owning a home that's decorated by Pottery Barn! You can find the hooks HERE

3. I am in love with these cute Rosette necklaces that I'm seeing all over the place...Anthropologie has had some cute ones! Look at this cute one:

You can find it HERE

I just read a tutorial on how to make similar ones so I think I may try my hand at it and see how it turns out!

4. I have a real obsession with dresses and skirts lately...I came across this one this week and think it's just the cutest for Valentines Day.

Since V-day is on a Sunday this year it gave me a good excuse...after all, Easter is on conference weekend this year so I don't have a good excuse to buy new Easter clothes for everyone. V-day is this year's Easter for me.

5. I found the recipe for this super yummy looking treat on the blog Taste Buds

I think I'll be making these soon! You can find the post with the recipe HERE

Link me up to something you're liking this week!

January Treasured Scrapbooking Projects--round 2!

Time for the second round of projects using the Treasured Scrapbooking main kit! This kit was full of so many different patterned papers so it was fun to mix and match! Here are three more layouts/projects using the kit:

"Your Smiles at Three Months"

"Naptime"

Altered Magnetic Board

So I thought it would be fun to make a little magnet board for my scrap space to put notes, pictures....whatever on! I have a very small space so it's a small board. I cut a 2"x4" piece of wood to 9" long. Then I cut an angled slit into the wood to slide a magnet board down into. I bought a piece of roofing shingle at Home Depot and had it cut to be about 8"x 6". I used the flowers from the kit to create small magnets (just attached magnets onto the back of them) and mod podged the squares of paper onto the wood. I finished off the board with a large flower right in the middle with a jewel. So easy!! This would make a great recipe board for your kitchen too...or a great gift!!!

There are still a few of the January kits left so hop on over and get one of your very own!!!
